What Traxlate does for Basque
- Text, documents, PDF
- Yes — to and from every other language, on your device
- Script and direction
- Latin, left to right
- Read from a picture or the camera
- Yes — the recognizer has language data for it (a one-time 1–5 MB download)
- Spoken aloud by an on-device voice
- Not yet — the system voice is used where the device has one
- Formal / informal address checked
- Not yet — this language does not mark it, or the check does not cover it yet
- Language-specific checks
- General checks — the engine translates it and the general checks (numbers, names, repetition, script) run; the language-specific tables cover the 18 tuned languages so far
- Measured quality
- Not measured yet — we print a quality number only when we have measured it
How it works, in one paragraph
You type, paste, dictate or drop a file; the text is split into sentences and each one is drafted by the on-device engine, checked by the guards (a lost negation, a changed number, a missing name), and, where the checker is not satisfied, redrafted. The status line says which step it is on. Nothing is sent to a server — not for a hard sentence, not for a rare word. The privacy page of the guide spells out what that means.
