Free covers 2 pages every 5 hours, up to 30 a month, forever; the paid plans remove the page limit entirely and add more devices, encrypted sync and the full-speed local API.

What is a page?
250 words of the text you put in, counted on your device before anything runs. For Chinese, Japanese, Thai and other scripts without word spacing it is 1,000 letters and symbols — accents and vowel marks are part of the letter they sit on, not extra. The count is the only thing the meter ever sees. With a pack installed, zero bytes of your text leave your device.
Why is there a limit if it runs on my hardware?
Because the language packs, the apps, the sync and the support are what we build and run, and 2 pages every 5 hours is what we can give away forever without charging anyone. The free plan is the full engine at full quality — we do not make the free translation worse to sell you the paid one. The allowance refills every 5 hours, up to 30 pages in a calendar month; the month is the outer limit and the window is what you meet day to day.
What does Pro add besides pages?
Encrypted sync of your glossary and history across 5 devices (translation memory from the browser), the local API at full speed through the command-line tool, hosted API keys for calling Traxlate from your own tools, and keeping the project funded. The hosted API is the one part that runs on our servers rather than your device, which is why a subscription covers it. The translation itself is the same engine either way.
What happens when I reach the limit?
The run stops before it starts, it tells you exactly how many pages you have and when more arrive — the next window, or the first of the month if the monthly 30 is what you have reached — and nothing you translated is lost. Your installed pack keeps working; what you are out of is pages, not the product.
Does a stopped or failed run cost pages?
A text run is charged when it starts, on what you asked for. A document is charged on the parts that actually run: Resume after a stop does not charge for the parts already translated, and a file the product cannot read costs nothing.
Can my team use one subscription?
You can share a glossary and a translation memory with your team from Your words — both end-to-end encrypted, so we store what we cannot read. Starting a share needs a signed-in account; joining one needs only the link. A subscription covers one person on the number of devices its plan names; a licence with room for more people is not sold yet — when it is, it will appear on this page first.
What happens if I cancel?
Your installed packs keep working and your local data stays yours — it was never on our servers to begin with. No subscription can switch your installed pack off. At the end of the period the plan returns to Free: the same engine, the same quality, 2 pages every 5 hours.
Is my text private on every plan?
Privacy is architecture here, not a tier. Translation only ever runs on your device — there is no server translation path, on any plan. Until you install a language pack, nothing translates at all; your text has nowhere else to go. Sync is end-to-end encrypted — we store ciphertext we cannot read.
