Legal · Terms

The rules, kept short.

§ 01

Acceptance

By creating an account, signing in, or using any part of the Traxlate platform (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" includes that organisation.

§ 02

Your account

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your authentication credentials (magic-link emails, OAuth account, passkeys). We will never ask you to share them.

One human, one account. Sharing a single account between multiple users is not permitted on Free, Starter or Pro plans. Business and Enterprise plans support team seats — use those.

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to create an account.

§ 03

Credits & payment

The Service operates on a credit ledger. One credit equals one thousand source characters at the English baseline. Final cost is computed before charging using language-tier, OCR and human-polish multipliers — visible to you before you confirm any job.

Subscriptions renew monthly on the date of first payment. Unused credits roll over according to your plan (Starter 0%, Pro 20%, Business 30%, Enterprise per contract). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period; remaining credits are yours until then.

PAYG credit packs do not expire while your account is active. Payment is processed by Stripe (cards) or NOWPayments (crypto).

§ 04

Refunds

Subscriptions: cancel any time. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months unless required by law.

PAYG packs: refundable within 14 days if entirely unused.

Failed translations (engine error, not user error): credits are automatically refunded to your ledger.

Detailed refund policy at /refunds.

§ 05

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to translate content that infringes intellectual property rights you do not hold, content that is illegal in your jurisdiction or ours, or content intended to harass, defame or deceive.

Automated abuse (scraping, mass-translation bots, distributed signups) is prohibited. We monitor for and rate-limit abuse patterns. See the full Acceptable Use Policy at /aup.

§ 06

Intellectual property

You retain full ownership of every document you upload and every translation we return to you. We claim no rights in your content.

We retain ownership of the platform, the engines, the codebase and the brand. The trademark "Traxlate" and the logo are ours.

Reverse engineering, scraping the application, or reselling the Service without a written agreement is not permitted.

§ 07

Service availability

We target 99.5% monthly uptime for the web app and translation API on paid plans, measured at the edge. Scheduled maintenance is announced at least 24 hours in advance.

We do not guarantee any specific latency for individual jobs — long documents and rare language pairs naturally take longer. The dashboard always shows live job progress.

Enterprise customers receive a separate SLA with credit remedies in the master agreement.

§ 08

Disclaimer & liability

Traxlate is a tool for professional document translation. We do our best to deliver accurate output, but we do not warrant that any translation is fit for a specific legal, medical or regulatory purpose — that is for you or a certified human expert to verify.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim related to the Service is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and (b) USD 100.

§ 09

Termination

You can close your account from settings at any time. We retain non-personal aggregated analytics; everything else is deleted within 30 days as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, with notice where reasonable.

§ 10

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes will be heard in the courts of London, unless local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

§ 11

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes are emailed to active users at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
