History and Settings
Where your past translations live, what Settings controls, and what "clear" actually removes.

History
Every translation you run is kept in History on your device: the source, the result, the languages and the time. Open an entry to load it back into Translate, copy it, or delete it. History is not sent anywhere and is not part of sync; it is the one thing that stays strictly on the machine where it happened.
Clearing History removes the entries. It does not touch your glossary or your translation memory, which are kept separately so a clean History does not cost you your corrections.
Settings
Settings is organised by what a person wants to change, not by where the code lives:
- Appearance. Light, dark, or follow the system; text size.
- Translation defaults. The languages Translate opens with, whether detection is on, and the register you prefer where a language marks it (formal or informal address).
- Language pack. What is installed, its size, and Remove. The install prompt shows the size that applies to this device.
- Voice. Which system voice reads results aloud; on desktop, the on-device voice model for dictation where offered.
- Pictures. The recognizer languages installed for reading pictures, each removable on its own.
- Your device. What Traxlate measured about this machine — memory, graphics path, and which one translation is using — in plain words, with the reason.
- Account. Sign in, sync, and the subscription (the account page has the detail).
Every setting is stored on the device. Settings that affect the next run say so ("applied the next time Traxlate opens") rather than pretending to apply instantly.
What "clear site data" does
In a browser, Traxlate's pack, glossary, memory, history and settings all live in the site's storage for traxlate.com. The browser's "clear site data" removes all of it at once; there is no copy on our side to restore from unless you had turned sync on for the glossary. The desktop and phone apps keep the same things in the app's own storage, which survives clearing the browser.
- Can I export my history?
- Not yet as a file. Each entry can be copied; a bulk export is on the list, and the changelog will say when it lands.
- Is History synced between devices?
- No, by design. Sync carries the glossary only.
